About Me
Alison Heilig is a strength, running & durability coach for women who are tired of the diet culture/fitness industry “skinny at any cost” BS and want to feel better about themselves and their bodies.
Alison has worked with hundreds of women who went from thinking they were “unremarkable” – limited by their age, their pain, their injury history, how their bodies looked, or how much they weighed – to seeing themselves as capable and strong in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond. Alison believes that, with the right approach to training, athleticism is accessible to all and is the key to better quality of life.

Alison is the founder and CEO of Miles To Go Athletics and the creator of Yoga for Durability. She holds a number of fitness coaching and yoga teaching certifications and has extensive training in anatomy and physiology, injury management, therapeutic exercise, and women’s health in all stages of life. She is the author of The Durable Runner and has been featured in articles on Women’s Running, Competitor, LiveStrong, MyFitnessPal, POPSUGAR Fitness, and Prevention for her expertise in running, strength training, injury prevention, and yoga.
Alison - once the farthest thing from an athlete - is now a masters ultramarathoner and weightlifter who lives with her husband Chris in Maryland where she thrives on spending time with her sweet brindle Boston Huahua mix and trail adventure partner, Duke.

When you’re in alignment with yourself, strength shows up and your capacity increases.
Through the process, I’ll encourage you to push yourself to new limits in a mindful way that treats your body like the incredible gift it is. I’ll ask you to meet yourself where you are, be clear about where you want to go, and then practice moving in the right direction consistently and mindfully in order to build sustainable power, strength, endurance, durability, flexibility, and compassion within yourself.
