Happy Friday! Super pumped to share with you all another thing I’m currently obsessed with. This week, we’re talking jewelry for #favethingsfriday.
Like many women, I’ve always removed my wedding band before I lift so I didn’t damage it or my ring finger.
Then a few months ago, I really picked up my CrossFit training volume which meant that every day I was either gripping a barbell or hanging from the rig for pull-ups or gymnastics drills.
One of the unpleasant side effects of this kind of training is that your hands really take a beating on a regular basis. It doesn’t take long for a serious set of callouses to emerge. That – in and of itself – isn’t really a problem but after a few months the callouses on and around my ring finger made it quite challenging to get my wedding band off easily for training and coaching. It was seriously like a whole other workout to get that little sucker on and off.
Before long, I was no longer able to wear my wedding band for daily wear. So I put it on my necklace and started searching for alternatives, preferably something that I didn’t need to remove all the time and risk losing.
And that’s when I found Pyrkiä (pronounced pir-kē-ə) — a jewelry brand that uses medical-grade silicone to create its rings and bracelets so they can be worn through pretty much everything.
It’s definitely worth mentioning that not all silicone rings are created equal. I love that these are softer, more flexible, and thinner than other brands. They’re also really durable so they can be worn while you workout and you won’t even know they’re there. Plus, they even have one in rose gold (pictured above) that acts as the perfect stand in for my wedding band and it’s even more stunning in person.
Now I’ve got a few rings (also love the mint color), a toe ring that I totally forget I’m wearing, and this super cool glow-in-the-dark lavender wrap bracelet with an easy-on-easy-off magnetic closure. All made to move with me through whatever life (and my coaches) throw at me every day.
Grab a few for yourself. Lots of colors, widths, and sizes available for both men and women.
