Let the light in. Over and over and over again if that’s what it takes my friends.
Sometimes — this week in particular — it feels like the effects of my meditation practice are short-lived. I step off my mat with a sense of calm and within minutes it begins to unravel. So why bother?
Well, I keep at it because for that time, even if it’s just for a few minutes, I remember what the light feels like. I feel it in my body and sense the energetic imprint it leaves in my cells — even when it’s dim or being overshadowed.
For those moments, I remember that I always have it with me, that it lives inside me — even in the darkest and most challenges times.
Because even if it only lasts a moment, this palpable moment of brightness is enough to remind me that there’s hope. This one moment is enough to recharge me, give me strength, restore my faith, and give me something to believe in.
With so much uncertainty and uncharted waters ahead, look for light and let it in often. Take care of yourselves and each other. Prioritize your mental and emotional self-care now more than ever.
Today’s meditation, Episode 18 of my Grit + grace podcast, is designed to support you during times of darkness — to help you let in and feel the light — over and over and over again if that’s what it takes.
And if you’re loving the podcast, it would mean the world to me if you’d share it on social media (and tag me) or consider showing your support with a monthly donation of $1, $5, or $10 to help me cover the costs of keeping this thing going without having insert ads in the middle of the meditations (awkward!).
