Roll & Release: Head-to-Toe Myofascial Work for Tension Relief
Fascia is a continuous web of connective tissue that wraps around, runs through, and supports every muscle and organ in the body. The cumulative effects of your posture and the repetitive motions of life and physical activity can result in tension, achiness, and restriction that may not be improved by simply stretching your muscles.
In this workshop, you’ll get a brief introduction to the fascia and its functions within the body as well as how it affects your range of motion and feelings of overall well-being. Then, you’ll learn simple self-massage techniques that target the trigger points of pain and common areas of tightness to promote a greater sense of ease.
We’ll use myofascial release balls to facilitate deep tissue release, improve range of motion, restore tissue pliability and resilience, improve circulation and tissue hydration, prevent injury, and help stimulate your body’s own natural healing and repair processes to aid in muscle recovery and efficient muscle function.
You can expect to leave this workshop with improved awareness and insight about your body and its very specific needs. You’ll learn effective techniques and develop a simple routine that you can do at home in just a few minutes per day to help ease tightness, discomfort, and tissue restriction in your whole body.
Myofascial release balls will be available for your use during the workshop. No prior experience with yoga or myofascial release is required. If you have any serious medical conditions, please consult your physician before signing up.
