Last year, I was here as a participant/trainee. The decision to come was — at that point — the biggest, scariest investment I’d made for myself and my business. I spent money I didn’t have, to travel to place I’ve never been, to spend 7 days with a person I’d never met. But it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’d ever made — a gamble that has since paid off in spades.
I could not have predicted what the year that followed would bring — or, more importantly, how much my mindset would shift as a result of making that simple decision to invest in me. So much hard work, solo grinding, unforeseen challenges, and big risks. But, in the end, all the commitment and consistency paid off. A lot can change in a year, especially when you believe in you enough to really put yourself on the line.
Now, as I sit here one year later eating my breakfast, watching the snowflakes fall and the sun rising over the mountains, I’m looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead. Just like last year, I cannot predict where this year will take me — and I don’t need to. All I need to do is stay committed to myself and consistently take appropriate action to keep moving forward — even if that means baby steps all along the way. Often, the smallest and most seemingly-insignificant actions can add up to a massive shift over time.
So I leave you with this. When it comes to your own growth, trust your gut. When you truly feel that something’s right in your heart, don’t just listen to the voices in your head that tell you all the reasons why you can’t or that it won’t work or that the risk is too big. Take a chance.
Because you don’t have to stay where you are. You can level up — whether that be in your professional life, health and wellness, personal habits, or relationships. And it all begins with you believing in yourself.
Believe in your capacity to change and grow. Invest in you.
